Can I Use Monterey Garden Bt Spray In My Atomizer For Marijuana
Products A – B
70% Neem Oil
We get a lot of questions about the proper timing and products to use as a dormant spray on backyard fruit trees. Dormant sprays control diseases such as peach leaf curl, brown spot, scab, etc., and insect and mite eggs.
Liqui-Cop® is a true liquid copper that is widely used in agriculture. It is a replacement for the old Bordeaux sprays and Lime Sulfur. Mixing with lime is not required for this product. For fruit trees, we recommend multiple applications. Apply once in the fall after leaves have fallen, and another in the spring or late winter just before the buds begin to swell. Do not apply Liqui-Cop during the bloom period. For a complete list of diseases and plants that Liqui-Cop can be applied to, see the label. Liqui-Cop is very rain resistant. Once the application dries on the tree, it is very persistent.
Fruit Tree, Vegetable & Ornamental Fungicide can also be used on stone fruits to control leaf curl, brown rust, and other diseases. For leaf curl, apply at leaf fall, again at Christmas, and just before bud break in the spring. It can also be combined with Horticultural Oil.
Controlling Insects
Scale is a problem on most fruit trees as well as overwintering eggs from mites, aphids and other insects. These can be handled with an application of Monterey Horticultural Oil, a spray oil emulsion made with highly-paraffinic based petroleum oils. Monterey Horticultural Oil should be applied while the trees are dormant. Thorough coverage is necessary because direct contact with the scales and eggs is required for it to be effective.
The above products, if properly applied in a timely manner during dormant months, should provide you with a disease-free harvest the following summer.
Helpful hint: Many people apply Monterey Horticultural Oil and Liqui-Cop together in a tank mix to save time.

Monterey Garden Phos & Pentra Bark®
What is Monterey Garden Phos? Monterey Garden Phos is the di-potassium salts of phosphorous acid that was developed in Australia to control phytophthora and pythium disease on agricultural, horticultural and ornamental plants. It was researched by the University of California to control Sudden Oak Death which is a species of phytophthora. Currently, it is the only product registered by the State of California to control this disease.
How do I use Monterey Garden Phos to control Sudden Oak Death (SOD)? The product is a liquid that is mixed with water, plus Pentra-Bark™ surfactant, then sprayed uniformly to the surface of the tree trunk, starting from as high as possible without exposing anyone to drift, down to ground level. If possible, start with the lowest branch on the tree. Use only on oak trees.
Can Monterey Garden Phos be used to stop infestation of already infected trees? Yes. Monterey Garden Phos can be used as a curative, and preventative spray.
What type of equipment do I need to apply Monterey Garden Phos? Use a pump sprayer, back pack, hose-end applicator, or similar devise. The bark must be thoroughly sprayed, to the point of run off.
How do I mix Monterey Garden Phos? The content of the container is 62.4 oz. and the Pentra-Bark contains 3.2 oz. Mix these with 62.4 oz. of water to make 1 gallon of finish spray.
Can I use another surfactant other than Pentra-Bark? No. This is the only one that has been tested to take the Monterey Garden Phos into the bark of the tree.
How often should I apply Monterey Garden Phos? Use twice a year. Once in the spring and again in the fall. After a number of treatments, a yearly application should be enough.
How do I know if SOD is the problem? Look for oak trees in the area that are dead in the crowns. This is probably from SOD. If green trees in the area have cankers or lesions this is probably SOD. Shave away the bark in the bleeding areas and check for dark brown or black patches of bark surrounded by black zone lines, this is SOD. Remember, other species can get the disease and cause infection to oaks. If in doubt, look under Tree Care in the Yellow Pages and have an arborist diagnose the tree's symptoms to verify SOD.

Monterey Garden Phos Systemic Fungicide
What is Monterey Garden Phos?Monterey Garden Phos is based on the potassium salts of phosphorous acid. It is very effective against phytophthora and pythium disease on agricultural, horticultural and ornamental plants. This includes P. ramorum which causes Sudden Oak Death, (SOD). It also controls fire blight on apples, pears, & ornamentals & downy mildew on roses & other crops.
How is Monterey Garden Phos used? Depending upon the usage, it can be applied as a soil drench, foliar spray, by soil incorporation, a basal bark treatment, or as a bare root dip.
What can Monterey Garden Phos be used on? It can be used on woody ornamentals as a soil drench or foliar spray to control phytophthora. It is used the same way on bedding plants. On turf, it is used to control phythium diseases. In California, it is the only product currently registered to control Sudden Oak Death. Outside of California, it can be used on pears and apples to control fire blight. It is used on various fruit & vegetable crops to control various diseases. On conifers, it's used to control root rot.
Can Monterey Garden Phos be used to stop infestation of already infected trees? Yes. Monterey Garden Phos can be used as a curative and preventative spray.
What is Phytophthora? This is a soil-born disease with numerous species that normally affect the plant's root system. The disease loves moisture. One symptom is that, even though the plant is well irrigated, it looks like it needs water. More watering only worsens the symptoms, and the plant slowly dies. Since this is a soil-borne disease, a soil drench works well to control. P. ramorum, a species of phytophthora which causes Sudden Oak Death. P. ramorum can also be controlled with a basal bark treatment on large oak trees, and with a soil drench on rhododendrons, camellias, etc.
When should I use Monterey Garden Phos? It is best to do prevantative treatments, but most people do not treat until symptoms appear. Be sure to treat plants adjacent to the effected plants to prevent spread of the disease. On bedding plants, treat immediately after transplanting. For downy mildew, treat at first sign of disease as a foliar spray. Treat at 14-21 day intervals. On turf, use at 14-21 day intervals when disease is noted. For fire blight, apply in the spring when new foliage first appears, then again one month later. If disease is severe and rain is prevalent, weekly applications may be required until the disease is brought under control. Monterey Garden Phos has many other uses for controlling specific diseases on various plants and crops. Read label for a list of these, as well as usage rates and various application directions.
What precautions should I observe? Use the rates stated on the label. Do not mix with any other products. If used as a basal bark treatment on woody trees it should be mixed with Pentra-Bark. On turf, do not water until the spray has completely dried on the plant.
In what sizes is Monterey Garden Phos available? We package it in pint and quart concentrate, appropriate for typical homeowner treatments. It is available in gallon & 2½ gallon containers for big jobs. For use as a basal bark treatment, it is packaged in ½ gallon containers with the Pentra-Bark adjuvant bottle attached. Pentra-Bark is the only penetrant that Agri-Fos has been tested with and found to be effective.

Bi-Carb Old-Fashioned Fungicide
What is Bi-Carb Old Fashioned Fungicide? Bi-Carb Old-Fashioned Fungicide is a preventative and eradicant fungicide for the control of powdery mildew, based on potassium bicarbonate.
Why is it called "Old-Fashioned? If your grandmother wished to control powdery mildew on her roses, she would mix up a solution of baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) and use it as a spray. Many organic growers use this method today. We have replaced the sodium with potassium since it is safer on the plant and breaks down into an essential plant nutrient for the same results.
What can I use Bi-Carb Old-Fashioned Fungicide on? There are numerous species on the label. Plants that are highly susceptible to powdery mildew are ornamentals such as roses, euonymus, and crape myrtles; vegetables such as squash, melons, cucumbers, pumpkins, peas, beans, beets and Swiss chard; small fruits and berries such as cranberries, strawberries and grapes; and fruit trees such as apple and pears.
How does Bi-Carb Old-Fashioned Fungicide work? It must be sprayed so that it comes in contact with the powdery mildew fungus. Once in contact, it disrupts the potassium balance in the cell wall causing them to collapse.
At what rate do I use Bi-Carb Old-Fashioned Fungicide? Apply 4 teaspoons in 2 gallons of water and thoroughly cover the foliage. Once mixed with water it should be sprayed within 24 hours.
When should I start applying Bi-Carb Old-Fashioned Fungicide? Apply at the first sign of powdery mildew. It is best to apply early, before the mildew has become well established. Repeat at 7-10 day intervals until the disease is under control or the weather changes so it is unfavorable for the disease. You can apply on fruits and vegetables up to the day before harvest.
What precaution should I use? A spreader sticker may be used such as Monterey Nature's Own Spray Helper to help make the product more rainfast. Thorough coverage is necessary for good disease control.
How is Bi-Carb Old Fashioned Fungicide packaged? It comes in a 4 oz container.
Always read entire label before use.

DIY Multi Insect Killer
What is D.I.Y. Multi Insect Killer Insecticide? This new system provides homeowners season-long control of many insects. D.I.Y. Multi-Insect Killer can be used in areas where spraying a tree is either impractical or impossible. D.I.Y. Multi-Insect Killer is based on the insecticide, Imidacloprid, which is the same active ingredient as Merit®, a product that is widely used by commercial arborists and tree care services.
What insects does D.I.Y. Multi Insect Killer Insecticide control? Aphids, scale, thrips, elm leaf beetles, leaf hoppers, leaf miners, japanese beetle, mealy bugs and many others. One application should give season-long control.
Isn't tree injection complicated? Not with this system. All you need is an electric drill, a tape measure, a ¼" drill bit and rubber gloves.
How do I apply D.I.Y. Multi Insect Killer Insecticide?
- Measure the tree trunk with the tape measure about 12″ above the ground level. You will need one capsule for every 4-6 inches of trunk circumference.
- Using a clean, sharp ¼" drill bit, drill 1″ deep holes in the tree every 4-6″ around the tree trunk. Drill the holes at a 45º angle downward.
- Using rubber gloves (which you should use with any pesticide application) remove the tear off covering from the metal cap on the top of the insecticide bottle to expose the rubber stopper.
- Depress the plunger completely into the syringe. Insert the syringe tip through the silicone stopper into the bottle; this requires steady pressure.
- Turn the bottle upside down so the insecticide surrounds the syringe tip and pull back the plunger to draw 1 ml ofinsecticide into the syringe.
- Do not pull the plunger out of the syringe; you will break the syringe. Carefully withdraw the syringe and tip from stopper. Place the tip into one of the drilled holes and slowly squeeze D.I.Y. Multi-Insect Killer into the drilled hole. Repeat process placing 1 ml of insecticide in each drilled hole.
That is all there is to it!
Can I use D.I.Y. Multi Insect Killer Insecticide on fruit trees? No, it can only be used on landscape ornamentals and interior plantscapes.
Can I use D.I.Y. Multi Insect Killer Insecticide on conifers? Uptake is very slow in conifer trees due to the large amount of pitch in the tree. You can try it, but results in conifers may be disappointing.
When is the best time to apply D.I.Y. Multi Insect Killer Insecticide? Use D.I.Y. MULTI INSECT KILLER when the tree is actively growing (not dormant). The best results are obtained early in the growing season.

Dr. Iron Liquid
What is Dr. Iron Liquid? Dr. Iron is a liquid plant food containing 15% nitrogen (15-0-0), 6% iron, and 3.5% sulfur. It is applied as a foliar spray or a soil drench.
Where can I use Dr. Iron Liquid? Use as a foliar spray on turf. On shrubs, plants and trees, it can be used as a foliar spray or soil drench. Dr. Iron is absorbed through the leaves and roots.
Why use Dr. Iron Liquid? It is an excellent source of iron for quick green-up in winter and summer months on lawns, as well as a good nitrogen source. Use it on ornamentals to correct for iron deficiency. It contains no phosphorous (P) so it can be used on turf in states that regulate the use of that nutrient. It should be used as a supplement to your regular fertilizer program.
What rate do I use? On turf, use 6 oz per 1000 sq ft. It can be used up to 5 times during the growing season. The 6 ozs can be applied in ½-4 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft. On flowers, use 2 tsp per gallon of water as a soil drench. On trees and shrubs, use 2 1/2-4 Tbsp per gallon of water as a drench.
Is there anything else I should know about using Dr. Iron Liquid on turf? Don't mow for 2-3 days before or after application. Watering can be done at any time after application since it goes through both the roots and leaves. All turf species can be treated.
What is the best rate and method of application for trees and shrubs? A soil drench is the best method. Apply ½-4 gallons of the desired mixture per tree or shrub.
What precautions should I take? Shake container well before using. Do not mix with aluminum based fungicides (Agri-Fos/Alliette). Store above 50° F. If applied over concrete or other material, wash off immediately to prevent staining since this is not a non-staining formulation like our other Dr. Iron products.
How is Dr. Iron Liquid packaged? It comes in a 1 quart concentrate to be measured and mixed with water, or a 32 oz RTS (Ready-To-Spray) which attaches to a garden hose.

Dr. Iron
What is Dr. Iron? Dr. Iron is a combination of iron and sulfur. Iron is mixed with molten sulfur which then makes up thousands of tiny metal oxide particles in a granule. When the granules come in contact with moisture in the soil, they shatter and disperse, converting from the oxide form to the plant-available sulfate form.
What does Dr. Iron look like? It is a homogenous granular material that is dull metallic black in color.
Will Dr. Iron stain concrete sidewalks, driveways, patios, etc? No! Dr. Iron goes out as the oxide form which does not stain. Only after being in contact with soil moisture does it convert to the sulfate form which will stain. Since this is a slow process, Dr. Iron doesn't stain when accidentally spilled on concrete and contacts moisture.
What about heavy metals (other than iron) in Dr. Iron? Dr. Iron is one of the most environmentally friendly iron products on the market today. The company that makes the product has invested a great deal of money to manufacture an environmentally sound garden fertilizer.
What is the analysis of Dr. Iron? Dr. Iron is 22% iron and 55% sulfur, so it takes less product to provide these nutrients to your plants.
Where do I use Dr. Iron? Dr. Iron can be used on turf (for quick winter and spring green up), flowers, shrubs, vegetables, ground covers, trees, etc. It can be used anywhere in the garden where plants are yellowing or pale due to iron deficiency. Simply apply 3½ lbs per 1000 sq ft. and water-in after application. On trees and shrubs, scatter ½-1 cup beneath the plants. On potted plants use 2-4 tsp per pot.
Does Dr. Iron help in high pH soils? Yes. Dr. Iron is an acidifier, so it will lower the soil pH. This is especially useful in Western U.S. soils where high pH is a problem.
How is Dr. Iron packaged? Dr. Iron is packaged in 7 lb shaker cans with a perforated top for easy application, 7 lb resealable bags, 21 lb resealable bag and 40 lb bag.

Epsom Salts
What is Epsom Salts? Chemically, this product is magnesium sulfate. Magnesium is a micronutrient needed by plants (and animals) to sustain life. Most people know Epsom Salts as a product to mix with hot water for a therapeutic foot soak, but it has many more uses.
What does Epsom Salts do for my plants? It is the only mineral constituent of the chlorophyll molecule, so it is essential for photosynthesis. If a plant is deficient in magnesium, its ability to carry on photosynthesis is decreased. No epsom salts, no plant.
What do symptoms of magnesium deficiency in a plant look like? It first appears as yellowing of the tissue between the veins of the older leaves on the plant. In some species, they will also turn a reddish-purple. As the deficiency progresses, the leaves become uniformly yellow. Magnesium is most likely to occur in sandy soils and/or acid soils.
What happens when Epsom Salts is applied? Magnesium is absorbed through either the plant roots or foliage. It is quite mobile in the plant and is readily translocated in the leaves from the older plant tissue to the new growth.
How can Epsom Salts be applied? Directly to the Soil: Apply ¼ cup Epsom Salts at the base of the shrub or tree early in the spring when new growth appears. A follow-up treatment may be made in the summer. This is an ideal application for roses.
- Soil Drench: Mix ¼ cup Epsom Salts in 1-2 gallons of water and apply to the soil beneath the plants
- Foliar Spray: Mix ¼ cup Epsom Salts in 1-2 gallons of water and apply with your sprayer to cover 500-1000 sq ft.
What does the addition of Epsom Salts do besides correct magnesium deficiency? It enhances the color of blossoms and leaves, promotes new flowers and fruit, improves the root system, and improves the length of the stem.
What is the main usage of Epsom Salts in the garden? Primarily, it is recommended on roses to improve the bloom. However, it helps any flowering plant. If a known magnesium deficiency exists, it is essential to correct it for healthy plant growth.
How is Epsom Salts packaged? It is available in 4 lb containers.

Fish & Guano
What is Fish & Guano? Fish & Guano is a combination product of liquid ocean-going fish and bird guano, developed for use as a natural fertilizer.
What is the analysis of Fish & Guano? It contains a fertilizer ratio of NPK at 9-6-2. This means it is 9% Nitrogen, 6% Phosphorus and 2% Potassium. The nitrogen content is much higher than other liquid fish formulations.
Where should I use Fish & Guano? It can be used just like other liquid fish formulations on bedding and ornamental plants, trees, shrubs, potted plants, turf areas, vegetable gardens and indoor house plants.
How often should I use Fish & Guano? Ideally about every two weeks during the growing period.
How do I use Fish & Guano? It can be applied as a foliar spray or as a soil drench. As a foliar spray, apply 1 tablespoon per gallon of water and spray on the plants. As a soil drench, apply at the same rate when watering the plants.
What are the benefits of using Fish & Guano? Everyone knows the value of manure (guano), when used as a fertilizer. Also fish emulsion is widely used by homeowners. By making a liquid high-analysis material, and combining these ingredients into an organic mixture, we have the best of both worlds – fish and guano in one bottle.
Does Fish & Guano smell bad? Like any other fish emulsion, it has a fish odor. We do, however, add a deodorizer to minimize this.
How is Fish & Guano packaged? Fish & Guano is available in a quart and gallon size container.

Florel® Brand Growth Regulator
What is Florel? Florel is a contact growth regulator based on the chemical ethephon. It is widely used in agriculture as a ripening agent. Florel is registered to control nuisance fruit in ornamental trees & shrubs such as: apple, buckeye crab-apple, carob, cottonwood, elm, flowering pear, horsechestnut, liquidamber (sweet gum) maple, oak, olive, pine, sour orange & sycamore trees.
How does it work? Florel breaks down into ethylene, a naturally occurring compound, in the plant. When a plant is under stress it produces ethylene. If the plant is in bloom at the time of excess ethylene production, the first symptom is blossom abortion. This is how Florel works; it causes the plant to abort it's blossoms.
Can I spray after fruit has set? No. Florel needs to be applied when the tree is in mid to full bloom for effective fruit elimination.
How much water do I use on each tree? The tree needs to be sprayed to wet. Excessive runoff is a waste of material. The average size tree will require 5-20 gallons of spray for treatment.
Does Florel Brand Growth Regulator have any color? Florel is an odorless, clear liquid.
Is it necessary to cover the lawn or shrubs growing under the tree? No. If concerned about drift, simply rinse off plants with water.
Should I use a surfactant? On evergreen trees (olives, citrus, etc.) a surfactant is not recommended. On deciduous trees, a surfactant may be used.
Does Florel kill bees? Florel has no insecticidal properties.
How do I mix Florel Brand Growth Regulator? Mix only enough solution to supply your morning spray needs. Once mixed with water, Florel will start to hydrolyze. Mix the amount you will need for afternoon spraying, just before use. If the pH of the spray solution rises about pH 5, it will be ineffective.
Are there adverse effects on the leaves when Florel Brand Growth Regulator is used? No. Florel works on contact only; it does not enter the tree like other growth regulators. Consequently, it will not have adverse growth effects, and there is no burn (phytotoxicity) to the new leaf growth.
If the tree is stressed for any reason con I treat it anyway? Do not apply to any tree that is already under stress. Florel Brand Growth Regulator may increase the stress on the tree, so it should only be applied to healthy trees.
Should I be concerned about drift when using Florel? Yes. Do not allow the material to dry on shiny, painted surfaces such as car and truck paint. Florel does not have any effect on sidewalks, house paint, etc.
Can I mix Florel Brand Growth Regulator with insecticides, etc.? Due to the acidity of the spray solution, mixing Florel with other materials, such as insecticide products, is not recommended.
At what temperature should I use Florel Brand Growth Regulator? This product works best when the daytime temperature is between 60-95° F.

Foli-Cal®
What is calcium? Calcium is a naturally occurring metal that is vital for growth and development of plants and animals.
Why do plants need Calcium? Calcium is the main constituent of cell walls and membranes. When calcium is in short supply, cell division and the development of the growing point and root tips are affected. Calcium protects the cells from toxins and slows the aging process. Adequate calcium in fruit assures longer shelf life once it's been harvested.
What are the symptoms of calcium deficiency in plants? Foliar symptoms are rarely seen. Since calcium does not move well within the plant, death of the growing point or tissue breakdown are the symptoms commonly seen. This is known as blossom end rot on tomatoes and peppers (large brown areas on the underside of the fruit), tip burn on lettuce, internal browning on brussel sprouts, black heart on celery, bitter pit on apples and tip burn on strawberries.
Can I correct a calcium problem once I see symptoms? No. Since these vegetables bloom throughout the season, you can not help the fruit that has already been affected. However, an application of Foli-Cal will help the new fruit that are being formed as the plant blooms.
I have been told that there is plenty of calcium in the soil so why would I need to correct calcium deficiency? It is true that there is plenty of calcium in most soils. However, calcium is very non-mobile in the plant. Under periods of high stress (blooming, high fertilization, high or low moisture, etc.), the plant can not get enough calcium to the growing point, resulting in some of the previously described symptoms. This can be corrected by supplementing the plant during these periods with a foliar calcium spray, making sure the fruit and growing points are contacted with the spray.
What kind of calcium foliar sprays are available? Agriculturally, calcium sprays are in the form of chlorides, nitrates or acetates. Acetates are the most readily taken up by the plant.
What is Foli-Cal? Foli-Cal is a 10% calcium spray derived from calcium acetate and calcium nitrate.
How is Foli-Cal used? On tomatoes and other vegetables, apply every two weeks during the blooming period. Begin application at the 10–12 leaf stage. On fruit trees and vines, apply every two weeks throughout the growing season.
How much Foli-Cal do I use? Add 3 oz. of Foli-Cal to 2 gallons of water and spray to wet.
Always read entire label before use.

Go-Die® Gopher Bait II
What is Go-Die Gopher Bait II? It is a grain bait based on zinc phosphide used for the control of gophers that damage the landscape and lawns.
How do I use Go-Die Gopher Bait II? This bait must be applied directly into the burrow, and it must be completely buried. Do not apply around the hole at the soil surface since the gopher doesn't feed there, and other animals or birds may eat it. A probe of pointed metal or wood can be used to locate burrows adjacent to the surface diggings. Working in a circle, poke the probe into the soil just beyond the mound until you feel it go into a burrow, then widen the hole with the probe and apply the bait into the opening. Apply about 1 tablespoon of bait to each burrow. For the most effective control, locate 3-4 burrows around the mounded area. The more burrows you bait, the higher the chances of the gopher eating the bait. After bait is applied, cover the opening with soil or other objects, such as a dirt clod or leaves, but prevent them from going back down the opening.
Note: Under no circumstances is Go Die Gopher Bait II to be placed on the soil surface.
What about secondary poisoning? Secondary poisoning occurs when another animal eats the poisoned animal and there is enough poison in the body to affect the animal that eats it. With Go-Die Gopher Bait II, the gopher dies below the soil surface and is never seen. Rarely are they eaten by a dog or cat. In the event that a gopher is eaten, the gopher has died before ingesting enough to harm a dog or cat.
What if pets of children accidentally get into Go-Die Gopher Bait II? For children, call the doctor immediately or your local poison control center. For pets, take immediately to your local veterinarian. Having the bottle label with you is always helpful to the physician or veterinarian.
Additional Precautions. Use only below ground. Do not use in gardens or where food or feed can be contaminated. Use only for the control of gopher

Liqui-Cop®
What is Liqui-Cop? Liqui-Cop is a liquid copper fungicide known as Copper-Count-N, which is widely used in agriculture for the prevention of diseases on a number of crops. Liqui-Cop is used on dormant almonds, apricots, cherries and peaches to control brown rot, blossom blight, shot hole, peach leaf curl and other diseases. It is used on citrus to control brown rot. It can also be used on vegetables and ornamentals to control various foliar diseases.
How does Liqui-Cop work? Liqui-Cop is a gel formulation. It is sprayed on, providing a protective coating of copper ions to protect the tree from disease infection. On stone fruits, it is applied during the dormant period to give disease protection in the spring after the leaves appear. It should not be applied to fruit trees after full bud swell. For fruit and vegetable applications, it is best used as a preventive fungicide so it should be applied before the disease is apparent. Thoroughly spray deciduous trees. A slightly blue tint will appear on the bark after application.
What about the use of Liqui-Cop on citrus? Citrus trees in California get a disease called brown rot. This occurs in the fall and has a black, sooty appearance on the leaves and fruit. To prevent this disease, Liqui-Cop should be applied in the early fall before the rains.
Is Liqui-Cop a copper sulfate? No. Liqui-Cop is a true liquid compound based on a copper ammonia complex. It is the only true liquid available on the market.
Do I need to mix Liqui-Cop with lime? No. Liqui-Cop is normally used alone without other additives. It can be mixed with oils (like Saf‑T‑Side® Horticultural Oil) to control insect eggs when used on dormant fruit trees or on citrus.
Is Liqui-Cop the same as Bordeaux? No. Bordeaux, which is a powder, is a combination of copper sulfate and lime. Liqui-Cop is a true liquid and a completely different chemical compound. It gives the same or better control than Bordeaux.
Will Liqui-Cop wash off in rain? Once applied and allowed to dry on the tree, Liqui-Cop is extremely hard to wash off. The gel formulation is intended to prevent water from washing it off. During extremely wet years, however, a second application just before bud swell is recommended.
Does Liqui-Cop have an odor or stain? Liqui-Cop has no odor, but it does stain. If you get it on a light-colored painted surface, it will probably leave a blue tint. This can be easily removed with household ammonia.
How is Liqui-Cop packaged? Liqui-Cop is available in both pint and quart size containers. In some states, Liqui-Cop is available in a quart RTS (Ready-To-Spray) bottle.

Using Mark It Blue avoids overlapping sprays and missing spots, and alerts you to direction of drift if spraying in a breeze. The blue color breaks down in heat and sunlight (the more of each the faster the breakdown). It will not permanently stain foliage or skin, but if spilled on fabric, should be washed off before it has a chance to dry.
At what rate do I use Mark It Blue? Use 1 oz of Mark It Blue per gallon of mixed spray. Rate can vary depending on how much you need the blue to show during application.

Monterey - Nature's Own Spray Helper
What is Nature's Own Spray Helper? Monterey – Nature's Own Spray Helper is an adjuvant. Adjuvants are products that are added to a spray mixture to make it more effective.
How does Nature's Own Spray make my pest control spray more effective? Monterey – Nature's Own Spray Helper is a spreader/sticker. When water is sprayed on a leaf, it has a tendency to bunch up into big droplets on the leaf surface. With the use of Nature's Own, the water droplets (which contain the spray material) spread out on the leaf surface, thus the name "spreader." By spreading out over the leaf surface, the plant is exposed to more of the active ingredients when you spray. Nature's Own also acts as a "sticker," which means it sticks to the leaf after the water has dried out. This makes the spray more resistant to rainfall or irrigation wash off.
What do I use Nature's Own with? Primarily fungicides, insecticides, and foliar fertilizers. It also helps with some herbicides. If the herbicide you are using calls for an oil concentrate, Nature's Own is not the product to use. In this case, you should use Herbicide Helper, which is a penetrating surfactant as well as a spreader.
How much Nature's Own should I use? Mix ½ teaspoons per gallon mixed pesticide or fertilizer solution. As an example, if you have a 2-gallon sprayer, add one teaspoon.
What about using Nature's Own with foliar fertilizers? Nature's Own is a good choice, because you will get better fertilizer uptake when the fertilizer is spread uniformly over the leaf's surface. Also it will make the fertilizer less resistant to runoff by irrigation or rainfall so they can be fully utilized by the plant.

Monterey Horticultural Oil
What is Monterey Horticultural Oil? It is a uniquely formulated paraffinic horticultural oil designed for both dormant & summer usages. It controls insects by suffocation rather than poisoning them.
I thought oils could only be used in the winter because they will burn the plant? No longer true! Today's horticultural oils are specially formulated to be used during the summer months without causing burn.
How does Monterey Horticultural Oil differ from the other oils that are available to the homeowner? Most products of the past have been dormant oils. These are used on dormant trees to control eggs from mites, aphids, etc. The newer horticultural oils can be used year round. Monterey Horticultural Oil differs from these in that it is 80% oil & 20% surfactant. It looks like a thick cream in the container. The other horticultural oils are usually made up on 98% oil & 2% surfactant. The advantage of Monterey Horticultural Oil is with the 20% surfactant system. It is safer on the plant, does a better job of controlling insects, and stays mixed while you are spraying.
What else is unique about Monterey Horticultural Oil? Oils are rated by their distillation range, which is the temperature range in °F used in refining the product. This process affects the weight of the oil. For example: kerosene is a lighter oil than motor oil. Insecticidal oils have a distillation range of 415°-465° F. When distilled under 415° F, there is very poor insect control. Distillation above 465° F results in very high plant toxicity. Monterey Horticultural Oil is right in the middle of the range at 435° F. It is also micronized in the manufacturing process. Regular horticultural oils have a micron size of 700. Monterey Horticultural Oil is sheared to 50 microns (the smaller the number, the finer the particle size), which results in better plant coverage.
How does Monterey Horticultural Oil work? It controls the insect by suffocation. It will kill eggs, larvae & adult insects. However, you must physically spray the insect in order for it to be effective.
I use beneficial insects. Can I still use Monterey Horticultural Oil for insect control? Yes, most beneficial insects are highly mobile. They will generally leave when you start to spray, then return later. Because they must be physically covered to be killed, they are not harmed.
Will insects develop resistance to Monterey Horticultural Oil? No. Monterey Horticultural Oil is not a poisonous material. Insects do not eat it. It is a physical control that kills by suffocation. Therefore, insects do not develop resistance.
What types of insects does Monterey Horticultural Oil control? It is very effective on aphids, whiteflies, mites, mealy bugs, scales, etc. It gives poor control for caterpillars & worms. However, it does a very good job on the eggs of all insects.
Does Monterey Horticultural Oil give residual control? No. It only kills pests that are present when you spray. It does kill the insect eggs, however, so there is some residual control in that respect.
What can I use Monterey Horticultural Oil on? All ornamentals, vegetables, herbs, fruit tree, nut & vine crops.
How close to harvest can I use Monterey Horticultural Oil on my fruit trees & vegetables? Monterey Horticultural Oil can be used on the day of harvest.
What is the application rate for Monterey Horticultural Oil? The normal rate is 2.5–5 Tbs per gallon of water. Thorough coverage of the insect & the underside of the leaves is necessary for maximum control. Use the higher rate of application (5 Tbsp) initially, then follow up with the lower rate (2 1/2 Tbsp) until control is achieved.
Can I mix Monterey Horticultural Oil with other pesticides? Yes & No. Although it is safe to combine with most pesticides, DO NOT mix with fertilizers, sulfur, Captan or Sevin®.
When I opened the bottle of Monterey Hort. Oil I smelled ammonia. Does this mean the product is contaminated? No, Ammonia is used in the manufacturing process. There may be a slight ammonia odor initially when the bottle is opened.
In what sizes can I get Monterey Horticultural Oil? It comes in pint, quart, gallon and a new RTS (Ready-To-Spray) quart container.
Is Monterey Horticultural Oil OMRI Listed? Yes.

Pantry Moth Trap & Lure
What is Pantry Moth Trap & Lure? Pantry Moth Trap & Lure is a pheromone sex attractant that captures the male flour moths such as the indian meal moth, mediterranean flourmoth, almond moth and raisin moth. These moths lay eggs in cracks and crevasses near food on shelves, in cupboards, in pantries etc. The use of this trap & lure will attract the male moths. By preventing their mating, populations are reduced, thus avoiding the need to use of chemical controls.
How are they used? Just peel the release paper from the trap and assemble. Place the lure in the trap. Do not touch the lure. Set traps where moths have been seen. Use at least two traps all year round, but no more than 4 traps in a home at one time. Replace traps every 3 months, or sooner if full of insects.
How is pantry moth trap & lure packaged? Each box contains two complete trap and lures.

Products Q – S
Remuda® Full Strength
What is Remuda Full Strength? Remuda is a 41% concentrate of glyphosate herbicide the same active ingredient as Roundup®. It is a non-selective systemic material that controls both broadleaf weeds and grasses. Remuda is systemic so it goes through the leaves to kill the underground roots.
Which weeds does Remuda control? Most all green tissue is affected. Therefore do not get it on desired plants or they will be killed. Remuda does not provide good control of nutgrass, malva (cheese weed) and ivy.
How does Remuda work? Remuda must be absorbed into the plant to control it. Generally, it takes about 4 days on young annuals and 7 days or more on perennial plants/weeds. The warmer the temperature, the faster Remuda works.
Should a surfactant be added in the tank mix? No. Remuda already contains a surfactant.
How much time is recommended between application and rainfall or irrigation? Give it at least 6 hours to become rain fast.
Does Remuda have residual control? No. It controls through the plant foliage; It has no soil activity, so controlling weeds that germinate after the application will require another treatment.
What rate do I apply Remuda? Remuda does have the best rate range of any glyphosate product on the market. Spray to cover the weeds thoroughly.
For young annual weeds – 2 Tbsp per gal. of water
For general weed control – 5 Tbsp per gal. of water
For hard to kill weeds such as perennials, trees, and bushes – 26 Tbsp per gal. of water
When can I plant seeds after a Remuda application? We recommend a 7 day interval between treatment and seeding.
What precautions should I follow? Do not spray when the wind is blowing, and keep animals away from treated area until the spray has dried on the plant.
Accidental application to desired plants should be avoided, as it can injure or kill them.

Sequestar® Iron 6%
What is Sequestar® Iron 6%? It is a dry fully chelated water soluble granular 6% iron. The chelating agent is EDDHA, the top of the line in chelating materials. It is especially effective in alkaline soils, but also works effectively in acid soil conditions. It is used to correct and prevent iron deficiency in plants.
How is it applied? The best way is as a soil drench. Dissolve the desired rate in water in a water can and pour around the drip line of the plant. Move into the soil by irrigation or rainfall.
At what rate do I use Sequestar® Iron 6%? On trees (ornamentals, fruit and nut trees, citrus, etc.) apply 1/2 – 2 oz for each inch of trunk diameter measured at chest level.
- For shrubs (including berries, grapes, roses, etc.) apply 2 oz for small shrubs and 2 oz per inch of diameter for large shrubs.
- To bedding plants, vegetables, groundcovers, etc. apply 2 oz per 100 sq. ft. or band 2 – 4 ounces per 100 feet of row.
- For lawns apply 4 – 8 oz in 2 gallons of water per 1000 sq ft.
- Potted plants apply 1/4 teaspoon per 8 inch pot or 1/2 teaspoon per 12 inch pot.
Can I use it on hydroponics? Yes. Use 4 oz per 100 gallons of water. Apply monthly.
What precautions should I take? Sequestar® Iron 6% may stain certain surfaces. If applied to plant foliage, phytotoxicity may occur.
Further information. Sequestar® Iron 6% is readily available to the plant so it can cure iron chlorosis of deep rooted plants fairly quickly. Once the deficiency is overcome, treat every 3 – 4 months at a lower rate to prevent its return. With all micronutrients, smaller dosages at more frequent intervals is better than a massive dose at one time.

Sluggo®
What is Sluggo?
Sluggo is an organic product used to control slugs and snails. It was developed in Europe and offers an effective alternative to traditional snail and slug baits based on metaldehyde. The active ingredient in Sluggo is iron phosphate, which is actually a plant nutrient.
What are the advantages of using Sluggo?
- Sluggo can be used around pets and wildlife
- It remains effective after rainfall or irrigation
- It can be used in vegetable gardens throughout the growing season and up to the day of harvest
- Any product not consumed by the slugs and snails will biodegrade in the soil back to fertilizer (iron and phosphate).
How does Sluggo work? Sluggo is attractive to snails and slugs and lures them from their hiding places. Once it is consumed they stop feeding on plant material and die within 3-6 days. Unlike metaldehyde baits, dead snails may not be visible since they crawl back to hiding places to die. Sluggo is slower acting than other baits but once eaten, plant damage will stop immediately.
Where can I use Sluggo? Sluggo can be used in all areas in the garden; vegetable gardens, ornamental plantings, groundcovers, fruit and citrus trees, berries, lawn areas, greenhouses, etc.
Is Sluggo OMRI Listed? Yes! Sluggo is now OMRI Listed (Organic Materials Review Institute). OMRI listed products have been reviewed against standards developed by OMRI for assessing compliance with the USDA National Organic Program (NOP) Rule (7 CFR Part 205). Sluggo is also now approved by NOP for Organic Gardening so you will see the green leaf logo on it as well.
How and when should I apply? Since snails and slugs feed mostly at night, evening is the best time to apply Sluggo. Apply bait evenly at 1 lb. per 2000 sq ft. which equals 1 tsp per 2 square yards. Re-apply bait as it is consumed. Scatter the bait around or near plants. For potted plants apply ½ tsp per 9 inch pot.
Is Sluggo expensive? Sluggo is more expensive than metaldehyde baits, however, you will use less bait per area. Sluggo is also labeled for use around pets and wildlife so you won't have to worry about poisoning your pets!

Sluggo® Plus
What is Sluggo Plus? Sluggo Plus is a pelletal bait made from .97% iron phosphate and .07% spinosad. It is used for the control of not only snails and slugs but also earwigs, cutworms, sowbugs (roly poly) and pill bugs.
Where can I use Sluggo Plus? It is to be used outdoors around residential sites on outdoor ornamentals, lawns, vegetable gardens, around fruit trees and berries and in non-commercial greenhouses.
What rate do I use? Apply Sluggo Plus at ½ to 1lb per 1000 square feet. At the lower rate, 1lb will cover 2000 square feet. Use the higher rate if infestation is severe.
How do I apply Sluggo Plus? Scatter the bait on the ground near and around the plants to be protected. If the ground is extremely dry, wet the soil lightly before applying the bait. Evening is the best time to apply because the snails and slugs usually feed at night.
What precautions should I observe? Scatter Sluggo Plus®; Do not apply the bait in piles. Do not apply directly to water. Do not use more than 3 times in a 30-day period and do not apply within 3 days of harvest to an edible crop. Re-apply if heavy rain fall occurs.
Is Sluggo Plus an Organic Product? Both iron phosphate and Spinosad are OMRI Listed for organic gardening.
Can Sluggo Plus be used around pets and wildlife? Do not leave an open container where pets can get into it. Both products are non-toxic but simple precautions should be taken.

Spray Tank Cleaner
What is Spray Tank Cleaner? Spray Tank Cleaner is a combination of soaps and other materials to remove and deactivate residual pesticide contamination from spray equipment. Many people use the same sprayer for herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, etc. Without the proper clean out of herbicide residue remaining in the sprayer and hoses, damage to plants can occure when the herbicide application is followed by an insecticide or other product. Also, without proper clean out, residue from some pesticides will corrode the sprayer. Use Spray Tank Cleaner before changing from one pesticide to another, or before storing equipment.
How do I use Spray Tank Cleaner? After use, fill sprayer with clean water. Mix 1-1/2 tablespoons of Spray Tank Cleaner per gallon of water. Shake and let sit for 15 minutes. Spray out the material on concrete or bare ground. The sprayer is now ready to be used again.

Spurge Power®
What is Spurge Power? Spurge Power is a third generation postemergence turf herbicide which combines the weed killing power of three completely different active ingredients; MCPA, Triclopyr and Dicamba. It can be used all year, as many times as needed to maintain weed control, and it contains no 2,4-D.
What does Spurge Power control? As the name implies, it controls spotted spurge. This is the reddish weed with a black spot on the leaf that homeowners hate. Even if a preemergence herbicide is used, spurge is the first weed to appear as the preemergence herbicide wears out. Spurge Power also does an excellent job of controlling hard to control weeds such as clovers, oxalis, dandelion, etc. In fact, there are over 75 controlled weeds listed on the label.
Where can I use Spurge Power? Use Spurge Power on all species of commercial turf except dichondra and carpet grass. You may see some yellowing on centipede grass and St. Augustine, but the turf will rebound.
Do I need to be careful to keep Spurge Power away from certain plants? Do not use in ornamental beds, flowers, trees, shrubs, etc., and avoid contact from drift. Do not use on dichondra lawns or anywhere desirable clovers are present.
What rates do I use Spurge Power? Add 1 oz. (2 tablespoons) in 2 gallons of water and apply to 1000 square feet of turf. A little goes along way. This works out to about $1.40 per 1,000 square feet. Spurge Power is an economical weed control product.
How often can I use Spurge Power? You can applySpurge Power whenever you see weeds emerge. Spurge Power has no preemergent control, so weeds will continue to come up from seed throughout the year.
How close to mowing should I apply Spurge Power? Do not mow for 1-2 days before or after application.
What about watering? Do not water the lawn for 24 hours after application.
When can I reseed? Wait at least three weeks.
When can I go back on the lawn after application or let the pets out on it? Wait until the spray has dried on the leaves.
What about temperatures? Do not apply when the temperature exceeds 85 degrees. It's best to apply early in the morning during the hot summer months.

Sucker-Stopper® RTU
What is Sucker-Stopper RTU? Sucker-Stopper RTU is made from the plant growth regulator NAA. This product is widely used in commercial agriculture to prevent suckers and as a thinning agent on fruit trees.
What is Sucker-Stopper RTU used for? Sucker-Stopper RTU is used to prevent suckers and water sprouts on apples, pears, olives, non-bearing citrus and woody ornamental plants.
Why should I spray my tree? Many trees produce suckers every spring. Even though you cut them back, the suckers will continue to come back all summer long, which can require a lot of pruning. One application of Sucker-Stopper RTU can prevent growth of suckers.
After pruning, many trees will put out suckers around the pruning wound. One application of Sucker-Stopper RTU after pruning will prevent these suckers from returning. Thoroughly cover the primary wound, or where the existing sprouts have been removed. Be sure to treat before new growth suckers are 10 inches in length. The earlier you treat, the better the results. Control should last about 3 months, depending on the species.
What precautions should I use with this product? On bearing trees (apples, pears, olives), do not apply during bloom or fruit set because fruit set reduction may occur. On woody ornamentals, this is not a problem. Do not apply the spray to buds or foliage as injury may result. Simply apply to the area around the primary wound or to the root suckering area. Be sure to apply before new suckers are 10 inches in length. For additional information, see the supplemental label on the back of the bottle, or on the label found here.

How much Weed Impede do I use? The recommended rate of application is 1½-3 oz per 1000 sq ft. in sufficient water for coverage. 2 gallons of spray will cover approximately 1000 sq ft. For a 2 gallon sprayer, add 1½-3 oz of Weed Impede®, shake well, and spray.
Once Weed Impede has been sprayed, what do I do? Weed Impede® must go into the soil to be effective. If you are in a high rainfall area, watering in is not needed. In other areas, water into the soil using sprinklers. You can wait up to 21 days to water-in, but the sooner it is done, the sooner it starts to control weeds.
Will Weed Impede control weeds that are already up? No. If weeds already exist (and no ornamentals have been planted) you might want to consider first spraying the area with a glyphosate product like Monterey Remuda or Roundup®. These products will kill the existing weeds, and Weed Impede® will go into the soil to prevent those that have not yet germinated.
How many times a year should I use Weed Impede? Generally, twice a year. Once in the fall prior to the rainy period, and once again in the spring after the bedding plants are placed, depending on length of growing season.
What ornamental trees, plants, shrubs, or ground covers can I use Weed Impede on? Over 175 species of ornamentals are on the Weed Impede® label. These include bedding plants, ground covers, shrubs and trees.
What species should I not use Weed Impede on? Specifically, Weed Impede® should not be used on: slender deutzia, douglas fir, techny aborvitae, or eastern hemlock.
What is the best way to use Weed Impede on bedding plants? The first step is to prepare the beds by rototilling, spading, etc. Plant the bedding plants and then spray Weed Impede® over the entire area. Once sprayed, turn on the sprinkler and wash the Weed Impede® into the soil.
Can Weed Impede be used in my vegetable garden? No, Weed Impede® is only registered for use on ornamentals. To prevent weeds in vegetable gardens, see Vegetable & Ornamental Weeder.
Can I use Weed Impede on bulbs? Yes, Weed Impede® can be used on iris, daffodil, narcissus, gladiolus, hyacinth, and tulips. Application should be made 2-3 weeks after planting the bulbs, but prior to weed emergence. Do not use on gladiolus corms less than 1 inch in diameter, and do not apply to tulips that have emerged over ¾ inch.
Can I use it on turf for to prevent crabgrass? Yes, but only on warm season turf species such as bermudagrass, st. augustine, buffalo-grass, bahiagrass, zoysiagrass, tall fescue, etc. Do not use on cool season grasses such as bluegrass, ryegrass, bentgrass, etc. Apply only to well-established turf.
Note: Do not plan to overseed for at least 90-120 days following application.
Can I use Weed Impede on tall fescue turf? Yes, but use it very carefully. Do not apply at the single application rate! Apply Weed Impede at a rate of 1 oz per 1000 sq ft. in the initial application, followed by 1 oz per 1000 sq ft., 8-10 weeks later. Do not treat tall fescue in the spring or summers if it was seeded the previous fall. Weed Impede® can only be used on well-established tall fescue, and then carefully as outlined above.
Will Weed Impede stain? Yes. Weed Impede® will cause a bright orange stain on rocks, sidewalks, etc. To avoid this temporary stain, wash the material into the soil immediately after application, before it dries.
What rates do I use Weed Impede on warm season turf grasses? Apply to well-establish turf one time in the spring, prior to crabgrass germination, at 1½ oz per 1000 sq ft.
Are there any special instructions for usage on tall fescue? Yes. On well-established tall fescue, apply an initial application prior to crabgrass germination at 1oz per 1000 sq ft. Follow with a second application of 1 oz per 1000 sq ft., 8 to 10 weeks later.
Can I cultivate or hoe the flowerbeds once I have applied Weed Impede? Yes. Once it has been watered into the soil, additional cultivation does not decrease the weed control.
How much does it cost per application? If you pay $42.00 per quart for Weed Impede® that equals $1.30 per oz. of material. The application rate is 1½-3 oz per 1000 sq ft., which equals $1.95-$3.90 per 1000 sq. ft. That is very economical for 6 months of weed control.

Yellow Sticky Traps
What are Yellow Sticky Traps? Many insects are attracted to the color yellow. The inner surface of the trap is treated with a powerfully sticky glue. Catching and killing insects by trapping early, is more efficient than trying to control a serious infestation. Long term use will reduce the infestation, and potentially avert the need for insecticides.
How are Yellow Sticky Traps used? Peel the release paper from the trap. Place the trap on end, or its side, and attach with a twist tie or string. Place traps near and above fruits, vegetables, ornamentals or other areas where insects are a problem. You can hang it on the plant or attach it to wooden stakes. Use 1 trap per group of 4 infested plants, or 1 trap at the base, and 1 at the crown of infested plants. Place traps early in the season when infestation is low for the best results. Dispose of traps when full or after 3 months.
Where are they used? Use in ornamental gardens, vegetable gardens, greenhouses, and nurseries.
How are Yellow Sticky Traps purchased? Each box contains 5 complete traps.
Always read entire label before use.
